Will Todd Trio

Will Todd collaborates with two wonderful musicians to create the Will Todd Trio which has been in existence since 1999.

Gareth Huw Davies is a multi-talented performer on both upright and electric bass. He is also a studio engineer and keyboard programmer and has played in most current West End shows. He engineered the 2006 Signum release of Mass in Blue and continues to work with Will Todd on new theatre works.

Jim Fleeman is a widely respected percussion performer in jazz, theatre and television. He has toured all over the world and has recorded extensively.

Soprano Bethany Halliday regularly performs as a featured vocalist with the Will Todd Trio (pictured right).

Beyond the Trio, the larger Will Todd Ensemble is an exciting, flexible group of high quality musicians working in both the jazz and contemporary classical worlds.

The Will Todd Ensemble has performed at festivals and venues around the UK and abroad and has been involved with many performances of Will Todd’s Mass in Blue. The ensemble also undertakes specialist jazz workshops and corporate training.

The Ensemble features on several CD recordings including Will Todd’s Mass in Blue with the Vasari Singers for Signum Records and his Te Deum with the Vivace Chorus under Jeremy Backhouse. The Will Todd Trio have their own CD - Sounds of Light – recorded with regular Ensemble saxophonist Paul Fawcus and soprano Bethany Halliday.

Recent appearances by the Will Todd Ensemble have included the BBC Ascension Day service, broadcast live from St Martin in the Fields in London; and performances of Mass in Blue with choirs around the country. In April 2011 they appeared in the Jazz in the Crypt series at St Martin in the Fields to launch their new CD with the St Martin’s Choir - Evensong in Blue.
